Hey, how is it going. I know I asked this before, but I never got an answer that satisfy me.
What does shuffle it all means?
And I don´t want no philosophers rambling around the "what could izzy meant by that"
I just wanna know the actuall meaning giving the context of the song (which I know is what izzy means right? ha )
does it mean rearrange everything? like when you shuffle cards?
just lend me a hand here.
cheers!

I think so. The song talks about travelling and everyday life, then changing your life. So I've always believed "shuffle it all" means "change everything". Anyway I'm not a native speaker, so I might be wrong.

In the context of the song it means that he is packing up everything and moving on with his life somewhere else, with new friends etc, but of course taking the dog.
Shuffle it allis not a term that i have heard here in Scotland, we'd call that a "midnight flit", where one minute you are where you said you would be and the next day gone.

Shuffle It All is a road song about living out of a suitcase and moving from place to place = touring in a van. I suspect it is very old (Shuffle Off To Buffalo) from old Vaudeville and Traveling Revue circuit maybe, and has mostly disappeared into history. I think it means impermanence and yes, rearranging things like shuffling cards, over and over again. It is not a common expression in my area either, but Cuttin' The Rug is, also a very old expression. Touring musicians from the 1910's, 20's and 30's would likely know both expressions. I did read somewhere in an Izzy interview that his grandmother was a musician and that is how he got started on drums as a kid.

I've another question:
Just now I hopped into iTunes to see if by chance a new release from Izzy has appeared. I did not see a new release but US iTunes has updated itself specific to presenting Izzy's albums and singles in order of "bestsellers". I don't know their criteria for which period these are bestsellers for or if "bestsellers" was bullshit or out of date but the Wave of Heat had been the best selling of Izzy's albums every time I'd looked in until tonight when US iTunes presents Like A Dog as Izzy's best selling album in iTunes... AND 117 Degrees is now available in US iTunes (still no Ju Ju Hounds). The "bestselling" list for individual songs has changed order also. The songs from 117 Degrees are $1.29 as opposed to the rest which are $0.99 per song.
I am guessing iTunes is only now updating sales data for Izzy's music, maybe for a whole bunch of artists in there, I don't know. The presentation of "bestseller" as opposed to "by release date" has probably been bullshit for quite some time. I do like to see which songs are the best selling individual songs off of each of the available albums.
Is anyone besides me seeing any change in Izzy's available music for sale in iTunes version available to you?
