The blog entry in honor of Izzy's birthday under the heading of Weird Holidays is fun. Nit-picky bits like the inspiration for lyrics to Double Talking Jive was close but a bit different from what I have read previously - I'm not convinced Izzy himself found the arm and a leg in a garbage can. That's OK. I still enjoyed reading the blog. World News of the Weird stories have shown up in Izzy's lyrics since then too... most recently Upside. Now I'm thinking about the Boston Marathon bombing and aftermath including an unprecedented lock down of the city that just happened this past week.

I remember Matt Sorum talking in an Interview about that there were an arm and leg found near the studio. And that Izzy phoned them after he heard it at the radio. And them came to the Studio with the text already written.

Yes. You have a better memory than me kuestenkind.
I must have also read that interview - it was an interesting description of the band dynamics while working on the UYI albums and Izzy's participation seemed nebulous, and then he phones in a worked out song idea with enthusiasm. I had liked the way it was described in the interview but I couldn't remember who it was telling it. To me that song is a classic GN'R sound. I can't imagine any other band doing Double Talking Jive so well. I have audio of instrumental demo of Double Talking Jive I recently put on a mixed cd to have in my car - I enjoy listening to it without its lyrics too.
