Reverb Nation site?

There is a site up on Reverb Nation where it claims Izzy is answering questions. There is also a ton of his music up there for free download as well. Is this his official site? Is that where I can get info, or is this another fan site and it isn't actually Izzy Stradlin answering questions? Not quite sure.

Yep, Izzysarmy is not legit.

He/she is trying to make the answers on the questions appear like they come from Izzy, but they're not really.. you can pick out certain answers that definetely show it's not really him - aswell as some answers are rehashed from other interviews years ago.

Izzy has no official site, until recently Beenafix.com and ChopAway.com were also not official but the sites that had direct contact with Izzy and bandmembers for years. It was basically official without being called official. Since 2002 he'd sent updates, pics or audio samples that were posted straight away, and we'd do Q&A's with him and the other bandmembers. But that stopped around early 2008 (he wanted to keep low cause of privacy issues at the time) and as far as I know he hasn't continued with another site(s).

Beenafix.com and ChopAway.com are gone, but if you want info you can search around or ask here - since this site is the follow-up of those two. All the info that was on those sites will shine through here. The IzzysArmy site has lots of info that was also copied from Beenafix and ChopAway. But those interviews aren't real.

Thank you for clearing this up, Izzydutch. I had the impression that some answers were copy/pasted from other interviews i had read somewhere else.
So the rest of the answers are basically all made up? Weird. I will never understand why people put some much energy in those kind of things.

It's also kind of sad, because i wanted to believe that there are plans for a tour and that Izzy and Axl are still working together on new music..sigh..

I would like a tour as well! I like GNR-doesn't everyone?-but his solo stuff is great. Makes me sad that the bulk of it has never been played live.

When I see some of the answers I think no way this is Izzy (for example he likes the Eminem album) or I find it contradicting (playing the Stones' Satanic.. album in the tourbus during UYI, while it's known he travelled alone and the rest by plane).

Then there's also the Keith Richards answer and another one about promoters falling through, they're basically rehashed from older Q&A's.. actually a Q&A from early 2006 (I remember cause the questions were put together from Beenafix and I sent them to Izzy).

Anyways, I've e-mailed Izzy asking if it's him or not. I don't expect a reply back, but if the page suddenly disappears then we know he got it pulled, like he did with other fake sites

Oh and it if does really turns out to be him, great.. but I'll believe it when I see proof (meaning an e-mail).

The questions are disturbing and gross, and while I'm not surprised that people are asking weird things, I am surprised that they're answered and published. It's actually what made me pause and think, "hold up. This is way fake."

At any rate, I will bury my hopes of a tour and just enjoy the music when/if it comes out

I'd like for him-IzzysArmy-to. Something was always off, but he did present as such an insider with possible tour info, recording info, etc. Also, other legit people were following him and even endorsing him. The Q and A was definitely weird, but what gave me pause was the sheer amount of free music on the page. Was that ok? Something about posting all that music, that you can and probably should be purchasing off ITunes, made me question the overall legality and legitimacy of the site. In the end, I just want new music. As someone new to izzy's solo music, however, I now completely get why the man shies away from press etc. Even just a whiff of asking questions leads people to go down a road of inappropriate questions. I don't blame Izzy Stradlin for keeping a low profile.

Wow. Thx so much for clearing that up, and following through. IzzysArmy posted some sort of apology and vaguely blamed a third party for the odd (to say the least) Q&A. Suffice it to say that I'll just continue to enjoy the music that's out, hope for new music, and just watch here for info.

Well don't believe the third party part - he just caught and this is his excuse.

Anyways, if there's something new I'm sure it'll pop-up here anyways.. hopefully there will be some new music, still this year.. After the awesome sounding two singles last year it was kinda an anti-climax to not hear a full album (which to my understanding was recorded).

But the singles and music video were a suprise - who knows what will happen in the near future?

I'll see if I can dig up some old Q&A's and interviews that were on ChopAway this coming week and post them here.. I've got them somewhere on a backup disk I believe. Lots of music info
